NEW PEOPLE, located in historical Japantown in San Francisco, consists of a movie theater, fashion and beauty retailers, and an event space. Since its grand-opening in 2009, NEW PEOPLE has presented the latest Japanese contents including film, fashion, music, game/IT and much more. In 2013, Japan Film Festival of San Francisco launched at the NEW PEOPLE Cinema as the first and only Japanese film festival in the Bay Area. Main guests in the past have included Miwa Nishikawa (director), Mitsutoshi Tanaka (director), Shinsuke Sato (director), Tadanobu Asano (Actor), Yuki Furukawa (actor), Tokyo Girls’ Style (vocal and dance group), Koji Morimoto (Animator) and many more.
